Yesterday, my sister, Jane, was honored for her contribution in the art of cinema at the Chinese Grauman Theater which is now being called the TLC Theater, with her hand and footprints in cement. Robert Osborne officiated. Lilly Tomlin spoke first. Followed by Maris Shriver. Jane's son and my nephew, Troy Garity, introduced his mother. Good friends and fellow actors; Eva Longoria, Jim Carrey, Lilly Tomlin, and Roseanna Arquette attended as well. Jane walked onto the stage and the audience broke into a loud applause. It was quite a moment for the family and for her fans. The actual imprinting in the cement of her fingers was a first. Jane chose to only have her right hand completely in the cement. The left hand formed a peace sign. Very cool! Then it was on to her high heels. After the ceremony was over and all of the photos were taken, Jane and I walked over to our Dad, Henry Fonda's hand and foot prints. It was very emotional for both of us. The year our Dad had his hands and feet set in cement was 1942. Jane's hand and foot prints will be right next to our Dads after they are dry.

Viva, Jane's granddaughter shares the stage at Grauman Chinese theater during the ceremony. She flew last night from Atlanta Georgia to be with her today.
It’s been a long time coming.
My site is a multi level arena for all the things that are ripping through my mind. If it changes or supplements the thoughts of its visitors, it will have done its duty. Future blogs will combine the humor and irreverence that makes up my on going life.
I lead a very interesting life. Every day there is something very different, enticing, and exciting that happens to me or around me. I am into acting and directing for the stage and screen, and all human triumph and failure, our planet Earth, long distance open ocean sailing, ecology, hydrology, astrophysics, geology, botany, and history.
Part of my lifestyle you should all remember is having fun. Being funny is a big part of it. After all, if one is in tune, funny is the tune to play. Giving laughter is more fun than giving advice. Giving laughter while giving advice is the jackpot. What a great word, ‘jackpot.’
I believe that one is only truly free when one is learning, and one can only learn when one is free. Freedom is NOT just another word for "nothing left to lose." though I like Kris Kristofferson's song, "Bobby Mcgee" (he taught it to me while we were shooting Dennis Hopper’s film,The Last Movie, in Peru in 1970). In this case, it has nothing to do with songs and poetry. It is all about freedom.
So, my site is about all of that and much more. There will be a store in the near future and a black-market store with my FKA brand of radical sport boards and clothing. I look forward to bringing you with me on films, on stage, on the ocean, in my life.
